Game On- Act III Your Anti-Retirement Playbook

Question of the Day- What is fun? My response- I'm a blogger, a writer, a social media manager- I find reading, writing, networking and being able to express my inner creative are my professional fun. Personally, all things family are for the most part fun. I say for the most part because those warm and fuzzy family moments that infringe on my replenishing, steamy bubble bath, may cause me to raise an eyebrow. Having just finished my latest project, anyone that know anything about me would add that planning is fun. Does planning ahead seem like crazy talk or does it bring a goofy smile across your face too?

Quizzes, charts, lists, mind maps and worksheets, Act III Your Anti-Retirement Playbook is everything! I am a team player, however I'm not even close to being anyone's athlete, so I have never actually seen an official playbook. As far as I am concerned, Act III Your Anti-Retirement Playbook  by Cecilia Williams, Ph.D. and Paula White, CPA, MBA, is a framework for achieving your life's potential, don't let the word retirement in the title scare you away. Curious about Act III? FYI- "The third-act conflict leads us to a big scene, which the audience has been waiting for since the story began."

Did you know that:

* In most countries, the idea of retirement is of recent origin, being introduced during the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

* Previously, low life expectancy and the absence of pension arrangements meant that most workers continued to work until death.

* Germany was the first country to introduce retirement, in 1889.

* The Social Security Act of 1935 popularized retirement in the United States.

Social Security is not secure.

Pension demands are destroying many municipal economies. The Crash of 2007 destroyed the personal retirement plans of many. And for many more, the idea of retirement = stagnation.

Retirement has long been defined as the act of ending our working or professional career.

What if instead it became the transition into our Act III?

What is our Act III?

It is a time to reboot, rewire, and re-experience the heady anticipation of our youth. It is a time for adventure, self-discovery, and most importantly, for continued contribution.

So many books on retirement speak to finances. Act III speaks to living life to its fullest, discovering hidden potential, even doing the jobs and starting the businesses that earlier responsibilities may have made impossible.

Act III Your Anti-Retirement Playbook says:

Retirement is an unfolding of your potential…In this stage of life, people start dropping their have-to’s and, if they are successful, start living lives of choice.

* Learn how to walk into retirement with ease.

* Learn how to make retirement fulfilling.

* Learn how to maintain and expand your relevance.

* Learn how to truly make your Act III the best time of your life.
