Beware of These 9 Frightfully Named Travel Destinations to Haunt

"Are you coming, Mom?"  As much as I wished that I could have hopped out of the car and lined up to enter the insanely massive Easter State Penitentiary, the responsible parent in me prevailed. Traveling with a teen, a tween and a toddler presents it's challenges. Not only was the allegedly haunted former correctional facility not quite, or not at all age-appropriate for our two year-old, it was also his nap time. Yeah, Dad, I'm sorry but you'll have to go solo on this one. "The keys are in the ignition. Okay? Bye!" Welcome to my world. Secondhand recounts and souvenirs are just as treasured as actual travel- says no one ever.

Beware of These 9 Frightfully Named
Travel Destinations to Haunt

Our family has actually ghosted about in one of the destinations on this list quite a few times.  The haunted Hudson Valley of New York is rich in American history and tales of spirited paranormal occurrences. Sleepy Hollow is a quaint, little place alongside the Hudson River that is especially spooktacular during the fall, leading into Halloween. Here are a few other frightfully named travel destinations to add to your travel itinerary.
