Empowering Messages for Girls in the Glimmer Girls Series by Singer and Author Natalie Grant

Princesses, fairies, and fashionistas, oh my! Young girls are relentlessly entwined in exposure to a magical world of whimsy and enchantment in movies, TV and in books. It is so rare to come across empowering stories of kids just being kids. Imaginative play is, without a doubt, an essential component to the healthy development of kids, however, realistic representations are also strong factoring elements to learning social skills and character development. Glimmer Girls is the newly released, two-book fiction series for young girls written by the award-winning singer, and mom, Natalie Grant.

Join twins Mia and Maddie, and their little sister, Lulu, as they travel the country finding adventure, mystery, and mischief along the way. Together with their father, famous mother, singer Gloria Glimmer, and their slightly wacky nanny, Miss Julia, the smart and sassy sisters learn lessons about being good friends, telling the truth, and a whole lot more.

The Glimmer Girls Series includes two titles, London Art Chase (Book 1), and A Dolphin Wish (Book 2), written by author Natalie Grant.

London Art Chase

There is pure excitement in the family as the group heads to London for the first time to watch mom, famous singer Gloria Glimmer, perform. But on a day trip to the National Gallery, Maddie witnesses what she believes to be an art theft and takes her sisters and their beloved and wacky nanny Miss Julia, on a wild and crazy adventure as they follow the supposed thief to his lair. Will the Glimmer Girls save the day? And will Maddie find what makes her shine?

A Dolphin Wish

In A Dolphin Wish a three-night stop in the city of San Diego seems like it might be just the break the girls need—lovely weather and great sights to see. That is until they hear animal handlers at “Watery World” talking about the trouble they’ve been having keeping the animals in their habitats. Mia and her sisters cannot resist a challenge and they talk Miss Twist into another visit to the educational amusement park to search for clues as to what or who is helping the animals escape.

Author Grant shares,  "Glimmer Girls is a fiction series that I have created with my daughters. The storyline is about three girls who go on tour with their singing mom. I have no idea where I came up with that plot! It’s fun for my little girls to help with the content because they actually live that life. Glimmer is the last name of the family, but it also has a special meaning. It is a light that is never extinguished. Sometimes it may glimmer a little bit brighter, sometimes it may glimmer a little bit dimmer, but it never goes out. I felt like that was such a perfect description for all of us. We all have a light on the inside and depending on the day, sometimes it’s bright and sometimes it’s dim. That is the message I wanted girls to get from this book."

The fun and exciting adventures of the Glimmer Girls will inspire girls with its empowering, positive messages. Inspired by her own three daughters, the Glimmer Girls delivers a warm and familiar perspective on life that is equally as enchanting as any princess, fairy or fashionista.
