Friday's Five Disney To-Do's

Disney To-Dos

Magical moments and memories are par for the course when anything Disney comes into play. There is such an enchanted aura that embodies the atmosphere nurturing the smiles and laughter of everyone cast under the Disney magic spell. I have said before that on our family's very first visit to Disney World, I really imagined our vacation to be merely another that I would add to our "Been There, Done That" list.  Oh, was I mistaken.  We too became totally enchanted by the magic that is Disney, and that Disney magic is contagious.  Lovers and enthusiasts of Disney have collaborated to form fan clubs, groups, associations and organizations worldwide.  It is truly a phenomenon of unfathomable proportions and the fan base only increases every day.

Stemming from the identification and unification with the Disney brand, true Disney fans are always eager to share their experiences while visiting "The Happiest Place on Earth."  There are insiders tips and tricks aplenty offering advice on the best times to visit attractions, affordable lodging, family-friendly restaurants and even character meet-and-greet times and locations.  Once you get in with the Disney "in crowd", you are in!  Well, I've come across a few Disney To-Do's that are worth a share and I am about to share some gems from the "in-crowd".

Hidden Mickeys

Hidden?  Mouse Ears are everywhere that you look in a Disney Park.  Unfortunately, I was unaware of the whole Hidden Mickey sensation when I made that naive first visit to Disney World.  Here's the story, there are major mouse hunts going on about the Disney Properties and even in the mundane real world for images and silhouettes of Mickey Mouse.  There are tiny pictures and elaborate designs incorporated into scenery, architecture and designs that will thrill and amaze visitors that stalk or stumble upon these intricate details.  Of course, there are even iTunes apps such as- Hidden Mickeys Hidden Mickeys Walt Disney World and Hidden Mickeys: Disneyland to assist and guide your journey.

Love letters

Mailbox goodies are always such a pleasant surprise to receive.  Technology steadily replaces the more personalized communications delivered through letter writing.  Here's a perfect way to practice handwriting or penmanship skills by writing a letter to Disney characters.  The magic here happens in a few weeks when an autographed character picture is sent in return. My recent research offered the following addresses listed below for those that would enjoy receiving "love letters" in the mail.

Track My t

That Disney Magic just never ceases to amaze me. From a simple click, you are virtually transported along on a tour of your very own t-shirt or a randomly selected t-shirt as it journeys from "seed to shirt". There is a unique tracking number assigned to every 100% organic cotton t-shirt sold through Disney stores and site. By entering your tracking number you can Track My T and virtually visit the people, technology and phases of the process of creating your t-shirt.   Can you say T-riffic!

CampFIRe Sing A Long

Chip 'n' Dale, campfire songs, toasty s'mores and an outdoor movie are the perfect way to wind down after a fun-filled Disney day.  Head on over to Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, if the weather is cooperative,  for an evening in the fresh air singing and clapping, roasting marshmallows and a movie under the moonlight.  Feel free to come prepared with your own DIY s'mores provisions and sticks or purchase food at the Chuckwagon.  Enjoy the opportunity to get character pics and autographs before the movie begins.  The complimentary entertainment is scheduled nightly, weather permitting, your best bet is to confirm the schedule with Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground prior to arrival.

Disney MagicBand

Here is the MagicBand Q & A direct from the Disney source. I have heard great feedback from so many satisfied families that have had the opportunity to use the cool new MagicBands during their Disney visits.  Our family is in the planning stage for our next opportunity to show our #DisneySide.  We are really excited about the convenient, customized MagicBands.  Find out more information about MagicBands here.

What is a MagicBand?

  5. As someone you has had a Disneyland annual pass since I was ten years old, I always get excited to find someone that enjoys Disney as much as I do. We look for the hidden Mickeys all the time and my son has sent more then one letter to his favorite characters. Pin trading is another activity we do. Lots of fun but can get expensive.
