News and Reviews: NERF Cyber Hoop

My son dreams of our basement becoming an indoor gymnasium with gleamingly polished hardwood floors and a regulation sized basketball court.  Honestly, I would co-sign on his dream.  School work is completed and chores are done. Great, head down to the court!  Your teacher says that you’re missing homework assignments? Then, you will be missing out on gym time.  Rewards and reinforcement, this is a Parents Win-Kids Win situation- in our dreams.  NERF has an innovative, new way to bring basketball indoors for up to four players.

The NERF Cyber Hoop is recommended for ages 8 and up.  Includes in the box is the wireless connectivity hoop, NERF basketball, iPhone/iPad/iPod stand and instructions.  The NERF Cyber Hoop connects wirelessly to your personal mobile device and the free app which allows you to challenge your friends.   With NERF Cyber Hoop, you are able to share your video highlights and stats with other people, play in 5 different ways and play with up to 4 players in different rooms and so much more.  The NERF Cyber Hoop app works with iPhone 4/4S/5, iPod touch 4th or 5th generation or iPad 2/3/4, which is required for interactive play and is not included.

Our family enjoyed a day of fun and fitness as my son opened the court arena for us to compete in an undeniably hysterical game.  The graphics in the app are great and the sound effects make the virtual game complete.  NERF’s technological advances have come a long way from the traditional foam ball and plastic ring that traditionally are symbolic of the NERF brand.  Playing the NERF Cyber Hoop with or without the app is always an option, my son without a doubt, prefers the excitement of playing using the app and with yours truly as commentator.

I received the NERF Cyber Hoop as part of a sponsored review as a Bzz Agent for a Bzz campaign.  I received the product for review and have been offered no other compensation.  The opinions and review reported are my personal thoughts, under no influence from the corporate sponsors.
