Minecraft Call to Action- Trouble in Zombie-Town The Mystery of Herobine Awaits

Help me out here please, my tween has tried. What is the mass appeal of Minecraft? I am still waiting for the fad to pass in our home but it only lulls. I love that Trouble in Zombie-Town: Book One The Mystery of Herobrine A Gameknight999 Adventure: An Unofficial Minecrafter's Adventure Novel, another great book from Sky Pony Press, begins with an explanation as to "What is Minecraft?" If you are curious to know about Minecraft, or if you already know, read on.

As author Mark Cheverton explains Minecraft, "It's a sandbox game that gives the user the ability to build amazing structures out of textured cubed with various materials to choose from... Normal rules of physics do not apply because it's possible to build structures that defy gravity or have no visible means of support."

Author's Excerpt

"With his sister stuck in Minecraft, Gameknight999 will have to face a new enemy to save her!

Gameknight999 was sucked into the world of Minecraft when one of his father’s inventions went haywire. Trapped inside the game, the former griefer learned the error of his ways. He transformed into a heroic warrior and defeated powerful endermen, ghasts, and dragons to save the world of Minecraft and his NPC friends that live in it.

Gameknight swore that he’d never go inside Minecraft again. But when his little sister, Monet113, accidentally enters the game herself, the User-that-is-not-a-user has no choice but to return to a digital world where very real danger lies around every corner. With the help of some old friends such as Crafter, Hunter, and Stitcher, as well as a few unexpected new ones, Gameknight will journey deep into a zombie village and face Xa-Tul, the powerful zombie king crafted by a shadowy figure with bright glowing eyes and a hatred for Gameknight999. To save his sister, Gameknight will have to learn a few new tricks if he has any chance of defeating this monstrous creature."

More importantly, in reading Trouble in Zombie-Town, the issue of online bullying is addressed as well as the importance of being there for family when help is needed. With an action-filled adventure bringing readers into the gaming world of Minecraft, the Gameknight999 series of books delivers a fantastic story with an underlying message. This is my first experience with the series of books from the author, which I highly recommend for fantasy adventure readers and Minecraft enthusiasts.
