I am just going to say this straight forward, I stand by the fact that I will not let my passion for the Berenstain Bears attest to my age. These books are part of a classic collection of stories that readers of all ages know and love. Our four year-old is a fan of the Berenstain Bears, so I could very easily be four years-old myself... okay, that may not exactly be a bear fact but the timeless appeal of this bear family is tried and true entertainment.
Did you know that The Berenstain Bears LIVE! in Family Matters, the Musical also tours around the country, performing directly in school auditoriums or at local performing arts venues. If you would like more information on how to bring Bear Country into your local school or venue, please send an e-mail to info@berenstainbearslive.com.
Thank you to the team at The Berenstain Bears LIVE! in Family Matters for the invitation to attend a performance for the purpose of facilitating this review.
The energetic New York City kids bouncing and bustling about in the lobby of the Manhattan Movement and Arts Center in their cub ears came to learn life lessons in the musical production of The Berenstain Bears LIVE! in Family Matters the Musical. With our little one happily seated with the other young cubs and few Mama Bears and Papa Bears in the "Grassy Knoll" we excitedly took our seats to see treasured tales that our family has enjoyed reading for such a long time. The family-friendly, live musical production entertains all with plenty of singing and dancing.
True to the children's book series, the Berenstain Bears experience the good and not-so-good life lessons that are very similar to issues children encounter. Family Matters addresses disappointing test grades at school, speaking to strangers, and delicious, not quite nutritious snacks. While no family is perfect, the antics of Papa Bear, Mama Bear, Brother, Sister Bear and their family and friends in Bear Country are educational and entertaining, delivering messages to young cubs of being honest, good health, and keeping safe.
Enjoying the friendly faces (except the fox!) of the talented cast, my son was bouncing about in the grassy knoll for most of the show. Be sure not to miss the free face painting and photos with the bears following the big finale. Age-appropriate for toddlers and up, our tween was kinda nostalgic about seeing the Berenstain Bears, in his own special way, this is fun-filled entertainment inspired by three of The Berenstain Bears’ most popular books written by Stan and Jan Berenstain- The Berenstain Bears Learn About Strangers, The Berenstain Bears and Too Much Junk Food, and The Berenstain Bears’ Trouble at School.
