This One is for the Wise Guys... Know Them, Be Them, Raise Them

Hypothetically, I may or may mot be raising a wise guy or two. Let's define wise guy. Aside from the quick-witted, sarcastic wise guys, consider those thought-provoking, mentoring men for the wise guys that they represent. Igniting a spark which in turn lights a spark igniting brilliance in other men as a reflection of their illuminating wisdom. While the run-of-the-mill wise guy may not always find his place in the everyday world, the spark of the true wisdom of a genuine wise guy will never lose its value in society. This one is for the wise guys. May we know them, may we be them and (here's where I come in) may we raise them.

Thank you to author Kent Evans for sponsoring this post with a promotional copy of Wise Guys for review as a FlyBy Promotions Blogger for the purpose of facilitating this #WiseGuys advertorial.

This One is for the Wise Guys...
Know Them, Be Them, Raise Them

"Let's spark a revolution that changes how men relate to each other! Let's become a truly multigenerational, arm-linked society of men who help each other grow, learn, and succeed."
                                                       -Kent Evans
                                                          Author, Wise Guys

Clearly I am not necessarily the target audience for Kent Evans' newly released, Wise Guys - Unlocking Hidden Wisdom from the Men Around You, however, Wise Guys is a book written about the men (and boys) in our lives. My expectation from reading this book would be to gain a little insight into ways that I can find those wise guys of men suited to mentor and guide my future into achieving the greatness of their fullest potential. While I struggle to accept the fact, I must be prepared to prepare my sons to be the fathers and husbands that they have the potential to become in the future.

“I’ve always defined true ministry as the process of walking through something with God and then being vulnerable enough to turn around and walk someone else through, too. Kent’s infectious passion to develop Christ-like men is evident in his writing and you will be both challenged and inspired by this collection of characteristic profiles of men who have gone before to show the way. Bravo, Kent. You are walking us through.”
Mark Hancock, Award-Winning writer and Chief Executive Officer of Trail Life USA

Providing readers with an insightful and wise understanding of the value of mentoring, Evans show the value in our society of having men standing as mentors to other men. "Mentoring, the fabled method of learning from others more experienced, talented, or wise than ourselves, is mostly dead." The vision of Wise Guys helps to keep mentoring alive.

For guys, more than ever, it’s a confusing world. Your GPS doesn’t offer any maps showing how to get to the point of wisdom — and who likes asking for directions anyway?

But there are ways to get that guidance you need. The answers may be all around you, in the form of guys you already know. Wise guys. More experienced guys. Better-traveled guys. Could there be ways to tap into their invaluable knowledge without enduring dull lectures or taking pages of notes?

Kent Evans has surrounded himself with these wise guys. They have shown him all the back roads on the way to wisdom. With a great deal of humor and an endless supply of stories, he wants to show you how to gather life-enriching truth from the guys in your own circle.
