5 CBD Facts from BATCH by Wisconsin Hemp Scientific

Let's just open up this discussion honestly. Surprisingly, I have been reluctant to discuss my need for and use of Cannabidiol (CBD). Yes, I have tested the benefit effects of CBD. No, I'm not completely certain about exactly the differences between the different CBD products. The truth is my curiosity got the best of me, leading me to seek more responsive, natural healing options for my debilitating, painful cycle of migraines. Decades of continual pain caused me to routinely research more effective ways to relieve my symptoms. Initially I disregarded CBD, mostly due to my confusion about the legality of purchase and use of CBD products. I'm also a mom, concerned about my physical and mental wellness, as well as the safety of my children. Bringing substances into my home that could potentially diminish my coherency of jeopardize the safety of my family is a pressing concern. What is CBD?

BATCH - CBD is an abbreviation for Cannabidiol, a naturally occurring molecule found in the cannabis (hemp) plant. It interacts with your body’s endocannabinoid system (ECS) which regulates a wide range of biological functions.

CBD is a naturally occurring compound found in the cannabis (hemp) plant. CBD is an abbreviation for cannabidiol. This is one of many cannabinoids found in the hemp plant. Unlike THC, CBD will not get you high and is legal to consume and possess in every state. More and more people are using CBD on a daily basis to alleviate a wide variety of ailments. It is commonly ingested via food/tinctures/capsules or applied topically via lotions/oils.

What are the benefits of CBD?

BATCH - According to federal regulations, we are not allowed to make claims about our product. We can only recommend using it for general wellness. We encourage users to do their own research.

CBD’s interaction with your body’s ECS allows it to have an effect on an (almost) unbelievable number of ailments. Unfortunately, due to federal scrutiny, we cannot advertise CBD’s true potential. We encourage you to seek out other trusted sources on this matter. Please discuss CBD with your healthcare professional prior to implementing it into your wellness routine.

What types of CBD products are available?

BATCH - We recommend our topical products for local pain and tinctures for overall wellness but feel free to experiment and find out what works for you.

There are essentially two categories of CBD products: topicals and tinctures. Tinctures are the most popular CBD product. Topical products range from roll-ons and lotions to salves and balms. Each method has its advantages and disadvantages. For most customers, we would recommend a 500mg CBD Tincture to start.

What amount of CBD is recommended?

BATCH - Every person responds differently to CBD, but generally speaking, we recommend starting with 10-20 mg of CBD twice daily (morning and night). Users are encouraged to increase this dosage after a couple of days if they don’t experience any benefits. People with more severe conditions may consider starting with higher dosages (30-40 mg) and increase until a desirable effect is achieved. As with any substance, you want to find your minimum effective dose (MED).

Products typically depict their CBD content in milligrams (mg). This can range anywhere from 25 mg to upwards of 2500 mg in a single tincture bottle. Other bottles show this value by the amount of CBD per serving. This can make it quite confusing for the uninitiated customer. Regardless, it is vital to take the proper amount of CBD for a pleasant experience. We recommend starting with 10-15 mg of CBD (in tincture form) twice daily.

How is CBD Different From THC?

BATCH - CBD is created in the cannabis plant, primarily in the flowers of unpollinated females. Along with other cannabinoids found in the hemp plant, CBD acts as a natural antifungal, antibacterial, and insecticidal agent to protect the plant.

CBD and THC are similar molecules, but they have different characteristics. CBD is not intoxicating while THC can have mind-altering effects. Both interact with your body’s endocannabinoid system (ECS) and can be used to treat a wide variety of ailments. Adjusting the CBD to THC ratio of products can help fine-tune a product for a particular disposition (although most states limit the amount of THC allowed in products). CBD and THC are both formed in the hemp plant’s flowers.
