Songs of Glory for Unsung Hero

The ONE Reason You Really Need to Support 5000 Blankets

It's so silly to think back to the time, however, I was a new mom and wife, suddenly faced with accepting the reality that I was no longer able to "grin and bear it". I was determined to work my way through my sore throat until realizing that my viral infection had its own agenda. Spiking a fever, my only comfort against the bone-chilling shivers was swaddling myself within my favorite comforter. Using the term comforter lightly. I will give credit for the sense of comfort I received, however, this comforter was actually a threadbare, white duvet insert which was bleached clean countless times over an actual decade of use. By no means was this the warmest, softest, or even trendiest of all of the blankets within our home. For me, it was the most comforting in my time of need. Filling the need of their local unhoused population, Phillip’s Wish is an organization founded by a caring boy seeing a need in his community and
the world. He and his mother became inspired and decided to take action. We had the privilege to partner with Sony Pictures for an advanced screening of 5000 Blankets, a powerful movie inspired an incredible true story. Exclusively in theaters for a limited engagement only on December 12th - 13th, here's the ONE reason you really need to support 5000 Blankets.

The ONE Reason You Really Need to Support 5000 Blankets

There's no secret in knowing that a movie "inspired by a true story or actual events" is highly likely to pique my interest. It's incredible what can happen when you transform your heart to serve the people around you. Bring the whole family together to enjoy 5000 Blankets, a family-friendly movie to inspire families to join in to serve communities as this real-life family does to this day. In my opinion, this would be the one reason you really need to see 5000 Blankets.

"Inspired by a remarkable true story, 5000 BLANKETS is filled with hope and highlights the power of family and faith. When her husband has a mental breakdown and goes missing, a woman and her young son set out to find him on the streets, sparking a movement of compassion towards those in need and inspiring a city."

In the midst of a heartbreaking family situation, Cyndi and her young son, Phillip came face-to-face with the many unhoused people living outdoors in inclement weather within their Texas community. Kickstarting their organization, they activated their family, friends, and neighbors to help collect thousands of blankets to pass along to each person they found in need of warmth and comfort.

Many hands make light work as they were supported in collecting approximately 200 blankets during the first year. As their dedication and efforts to Phillip's Wish grew, by their fourth year more than 20,000 blankets were collected along with hundreds of hats, scarves, gloves, sleeping bags, toiletries, and toys.

There's a heartwarming story of overcoming challenges to triumph through trials, this would be the one reason you really need to support 5000 Blankets.
