Value and Versatility in Choosing a Plant-Based Lifestyle

Notoriously, I am the picky eater of our family, that has always been my particular claim to fame. Our relationships with food are always changing and we can adapt to adjustments in our dietary needs. Evolving beyond our childhood mealtime reminders to eat our veggies, plant-based eating has become a transformational factor in our lifestyles. Current research supports including plant-based dietary choices as a means of boosting our overall wellness goals.
Helping us to reduce health risks associated with unbalanced nutritional intake, increasing plant-based choices or opting for a meatless lifestyle helps us to improve our physical and mental well-being through a healthier diet. Before you bite into your next turkey sandwich, let's bite into the value and versatility in choosing a plant-based lifestyle.

Value and Versatility in Choosing a Plant-Based Lifestyle

Budget-Friendly

Consider a price comparison of meat, in contrast to fruits, veggies, nuts, seeds, and whole grains. Consuming meat and animal-based products often cost more than opting for plant-based proteins.

Eco-Friendly

Less meat in your diet can significantly reduce your water consumption footprint as 1,000s of gallons of water is required for raising livestock, also contributing to greenhouse gases and deforestation.

Weight Management

Keeping fitness as our foundation for healthier living, try including these plant-based foods into your balanced meal plans-

Celery
Lettuce
Watermelon
Broccoli
Cauliflower
Grapefruit
Mushrooms
Berries (Strawberries, Blueberries, Blackberries)
Kiwi
Carrots
Spinach
Kale

Flexitarian Focus

Our dietary options have expanded to include vegetarian, vegan, plant-based, flexitarian, and variations of each lifestyle choice. Adding flexibility to our meal choices, flexitarian eating reduces meat and animal products in your diet. With limited meat or fish protein added to your dietary intake, plant-based foods will be the greater portion of your diet.
