Experience and Emotions Rule on Eleanor's Bench

We are all human. Humanity is the common denominator connecting each one of us to one another. Very often in life there are times when our lifestyles, accomplishments, or achievements divide us, rather than serving to unite people. Why does this seem to happen so often? Exploring the human side of a juvenile court judge, the new
series Eleanor’s Bench, streaming exclusively on Pure Flix is a truly relatable story. Portraying complex issues addressing family, faith, and forgiveness, this heartwarming series is about learning from the past and accepting that we are worthy and deserving of grace. Take a seat to watch all of the action, as experience and emotions rule on Eleanor's Bench.

Experience and Emotions Rule on Eleanor's Bench

"Eleanor Thomas’s success as a Washington DC juvenile court judge is challenged when her inner-city past comes to court and demands more than judgment, prompting her to return to her impoverished neighborhood of youth. Will her renewed sense of purpose reinvigorate her faith?"

Sitting on the judicial bench for a U.S. District Court in Washington, D.C., The Honorable Eleanor Thomas serves as a judge. On the other side of town sits a small garden bench where Eleanor's mother, also named Eleanor would “hold court” in the neighborhood as a place to come and be heard. Coming full circle, both benches hold a significant amount of importance in Eleanor's life.

Eleanor's Bench Episode 2
"Old hurts and tough truths are revealed as Eleanor spends more time in her old neighborhood."

An important lesson I've learned in life is that hurt people, hurt people. It's a simple truth. Throughout the series, it appears that Eleanor's understanding of this concept guides her through difficult personal and professional situations. By demonstrating a firm and fair approach to the juvenile court system, it's apparent Eleanor has a heart for helping at-risk children.

As the second episode begins to reach into the lives and connections of the people Eleanor interacts with at home and through the court system, a deeper understanding of their lives begins to take form. While there are times where her personal and professional paths intersect, with steady faith, family and friends support, and belief in herself, Eleanor's Bench is a place for opportunities. Opportunities to learn from the past and determine the course for our future.

I've already connected deeply with this endearing, series.
