Mastering Lessons in Learning and Love

Would you consider yourself to be more of a logical or emotional person? Perhaps, you may find yourself to be a combination of logic and emotion. As I enjoy understanding as much as possible about the hows and whys of humanity, I truly enjoy watching and reading about the life experiences of other people. Recently, I had the pleasure of partnering with Evolve Studios for an advanced screening of the soon to be released movie, Surprised by Oxford.
Vibrantly envisioned, this movie is based upon the true life experiences of Carolyn Weber, a brilliant  and determined American scholarship student studying abroad at Oxford University. In pursuit of her life's passion to obtain a doctorate, she embraces culture shock with as much logic as she can manage to achieve her academic goals. Ideal for an endearing movie to inspire your spirit to find the faith to believe beyond the words printed on pages of books. Surprised by Oxford shares a story filled with a young woman's journey in mastering lessons in learning and love.

Mastering Lessons in Learning and Love

"Caro Drake, a brilliant but emotionally guarded American student, arrives at the University of Oxford with the goal of attaining her PhD. Through a turbulent friendship with a charming young man, she begins to open herself up to mystery, vulnerability, and love."

Surprised by Oxford is based upon the award-winning, heartwarming memoir of Carolyn Weber, inspirational author of the book adapted into this movie. Gifted with intelligence beyond her young age, Carolyn overcomes crushing adversity. Rewarded for her academic excellence with a scholarship opportunity overseas at Oxford University, the challenges of her rigorous studies, intense academic environment, and personal beliefs change the life she has always known.

Through an encounter with a TDH (tall, dark, and handsome) British student, Carolyn discovers her belief in the power of having faith in learning and loving more that academic studies. Surprised by Oxford portrays Carolyn's emotional transformation from skeptical to spiritual.

Directed by David A.R. White and starring Rose Reid, Jesse Moss, and Erin Bethea, Surprised by Oxford is now available to purchase or rent for a limited time HERE.
