Based on the Award-Winning True-ish Story East of Wall

Countless times I have become captivated with curiosity by the fascinating details of any movie, book, or tale told which is based on a true story. Too often, the common saying depicting that fact is stranger than fiction has proven to be true. Blending creative freedom with actual events (think Lin Manuel Miranda's Hamilton), adds a layer of intrigue to storytelling. We were granted the privilege of an advanced screening of the "docu-fiction" movie, East of Wall. Inspired by the real life resilience of Tabatha Zimiga, portraying an adapted version of herself as the female lead in the based on the award-winning, true-ish story—East of Wall.

Based on the Award-Winning, True-ish Story East of Wall

East of Wall

"East of Wall is an authentic portrait of female resilience in the “New West” inspired and played by the women and girls who live it. Set in the Badlands of South Dakota, Tabatha, a young rebellious rancher, who rescues and resells horses, must make hard decisions to deal with her fractured family, the financial uncertainty of losing her ranch, and unresolved grief, all while providing refuge and the skills of the horse trade to a group of wayward neighborhood teens."

Rescuing, training, and selling horses on her struggling ranch demonstrates a lifestyle far from the stereotypes of ranch life. However, life following the death of her husband, leaves Tabatha (Tabatha Zimiga) deep in her feelings of grief, as well as financially burdened.

Despite her own struggles, Tabatha and her daughters provide a safe space and sense of family for a group of teens on her family's inherited ranch. Faced with the weight of the decision to give up her family's legacy in the property for financial gain, we follow Tabatha's powerful journey.

Featured at Sundance and Tribeca Film Festivals, this award-winning, emotional drama is the writer and director debut of Kate Beecroft. Rated R for mature themed content including abuse and the use of strong language, East of Wall features the talents of-
