Teach Kids to Bug Out- The Alphabet of Bugs: An ABC Book

First off, I must admit that I immediately dicovered that I have a love/hate relationship with this book. Who hates books? I don't hate books, our family loves reading. However each and every creepy, crawly bug on the pages of this book, okay, maybe hate is a strong word. The incredibly beautiful photography of the aforementioned buggies, I simply love. The vivid images and rhythmic descriptions create a work of art that is so more than an ABC book.

Travel through the alphabet with The Alphabet of Bugs to learn about the many beautiful and unusually named bugs found in nature—and brush up on those ABCs as well!

The Alphabet of Bugs is the perfect gift for both those learning the alphab
et and insect lovers. Even those normally squeamish around bugs will enjoy the colorful photographs of these unique and beautiful creatures. Children who already know their basic bugs will broaden their horizons to the more unique and rare, and parents who are tired of simple butterflies and beetles will find this book worth rereading. Spectacular real-life photographs of insects of all kinds will inspire both children and parents to learn more about the different creatures found in the natural world. This book is meant for readers ages 3–5 (grades preschool–kindergarten).

Sitting outdoors in the fresh air and sunshine, reading The Alphabet of Bugs: An ABC Book with my 4 year-old, we developed a deeper appreciation for nature, as contained on the pages of this delightful book. As we blew away the crawling bugs, swatted away the flying bugs, and ran away from the creepy bugs, the brilliant photography of Ann Cutting,  acompanied by the whimsical alliterations of author Valerie Gates, we were one with nature. This book is prime with museum-quality art, moreso than than standard literary merit. Adults and children will enjoy the simple, descriptive text and realistic photography as an informative read to educate and entertain.
