Songs of Glory for Unsung Hero

What You Can Do to Support and Celebrate National School Choice Week

In my mind, education has always illuminated the path to freedom. Moving forward along on in my learning journey the need for a school equipped to fulfill my vision was a hard fought mission. School choice continues to be not just a “want” but an essential need for families. Families deserve the opportunity to discover the best school matches for their children. A strong education foundation can change a family’s future.
Not every student learns in the same manner. Think about it, we all have friends who attend different schools for different reasons. It serves great purpose that there are a variety of school choices available to meet learning needs. As a community, it's important that we each do all that we can do to make sure learning options are accessible to every student, not only for families with access to resources. Here's what you can do to support and celebrate National School Choice Week.

What You Can Do to Support and Celebrate National School Choice Week

Lessons learned in classrooms today will help determine what our world looks like ten years from now. Supporting school choice is one of the best ways to prepare us for a stronger future. I hope you’ll join us in celebrating National School Choice Week (NSCW).

National School Choice Week

Our family will be celebrating National School Choice Week (Jan. 22-28, 2023), along with millions of other families across the nation. During #SchoolChoiceWeek the goal is to raise awareness to the fact that each child is different with unique values, challenges, motivations, and needs. Offering school options is an opportunity to support our students in the learning process.

Our children spend so much of their lives at school, and as parents, we are required to put trust into the fact that their learning environment allows them to feel safe, respected, and inspired. With the barriers and setbacks we’ve all been through over the last few years, there’s absolutely no time or reason to hesitate if you believe that the school your child attends does not make them feel that valued.

In all honesty, schools can be great schools, yet still not be the right academic fit for an individual child. Consider the school's learning environment, methodology, curriculum, teacher-student ratio, and other factors, because no one school can be all things to all people.

Support and Celebrate NCSW

It's important for every parent to be equipped with the power to choose a quality school for their children. That’s why our family is celebrating the annual campaign for National School Choice Week. As families, we need to come together to stand up for the rights of other families to determine the best school options for our children. School Choice Week also serves as a reminder for us to take the time to express our gratitude to those dedicated people who make a difference in education, helping our children discover their strengths and passions.
